More stash enhancement, SP5, Sockapal2za, Tivoli T and kid stuff
oooo more stash enhancement!!! Socks, Socks, Socks. Lorna's Laces Shepard Socks in Cool and Georgetown. Koigu, Koigu, Koigu ( I am going to make myself Nancy Bush's Traveler's Stockings from Knitting on the Road) The fall Interweave Knits Magazine...woohoo. A sock pattern incorporating beads (new technique for me) beads, fixation sock patterns. A little knit card and tape measure for my secret pal. And one other pattern. This particular pattern caught my eye because it is versitile and has sizing for 3 of my children. Also, on the back it says "Please do not photocopy these patterns, all proceeds will go to Mac's college fund. Now age 12, she wants to be an architect and an olympic swimmer/January 2005" The Pattern is a Mac & Me (if you are interested in contact info, let me know)
Sockapal2za, turning the heel, turning the heel, knitting the gusset, knitting the gusset. I have here fore proclaimed my love for KOIGU...move over HWWTS&J(please see previous post...hehehe) this is the first time i have done the heel and gusset using 1 circular. Very exciting!!
here you will find my fat arse donning my poor poor neglected tivoli t-shirt.... it is way too big just like my arse!
Funny kid picture of the post...this is from monday night...thomas is hiding under the bed from daddy because HWWTS&J told him to go to bed...and look, foiled again, he fell asleep.

Finally a Sock! and kid stuff
Here goes, after frogging twice more (total of 5 times for those of you keeping count) I have found the answer... Interweave Knits Spring 2005 Cable Rib Socks by Erica Alexander. I really love this pattern and I definitely think I will be making myself a pair. BTW, those of you who "know" me have heard me bitchin' about what is the big deal with KOIGU, well I must now agree that it is wonderful! Also, I hope my pal will like her socks...no lace and koigu! You never know, maybe it is you!
How funny is this... This was at midnight last night. I had just cast on the Cable Rib Socks for my sockapal2za pal and couldn't keep from telling myself over and over again "Just one more row" That's Dylana on the very top, Anna on the bottom and Harrison laying on Anna. Bad mommy, having your children fall asleep on the couch...the horror.
This is my daddy and you can't have him!!! Hubby...who will be known from this point on as HWWTS&J** (He who wears tee shirts and jeans....because he will even wear this to weddings) didn't get home until 9:30pm. Thomas missed him. **stolen from Knit & Tonic's HWWV (He who wears Versace). Thank you, if you ever happen to stop by my blog. lol

Sockapal2za, other knitting progress & some kids
Well here is proof that I have started my sockapal2za sock...
And here is the other side...
And here it is all frogged...The pattern that I finally chose was too difficult for travelling with. (I usually knit my socks in the car with hubby driving) So back to the drawing board... I must say that the rib was done on 0's and the rest on 1's. Oh well.
A little bit of progress on my Tivoli Tee, still not at the decreases yet...phooey.
What a beautiful morning for play. That's Thomas on top and Harrison on the bottom.
HAHA...I am in my sisters car, but I will leave the driving to someone else....THOMAS, COME DRIVE ME AROUND!!!!!

Candy, Candy, Candy, Candy, Candy...woohoo. You are the best SP. I hope you have as great of a SP as you are to me. BTW, Thomas snatched a bubble gum already...see the empty wrapper. You are a hit with the kids too!

What Happened to All the Women?????
So...I'm checking out this Greatest American thing and there were lots of women... I ask you now...WHERE ARE THE WOMEN? Not that I am against men in anyway (unless they are idiots), but there were great women out there too! There was Eleanor Roosevelt, Rosa Parks, Harriet Tubman, Susan B. Anthony, etc. How come you didn't vote for them????? I guess I already knew who the top 5 would be but it doesn't make it any less disappointing. Geesh we could have had just one of the five...

Well Looky, Looky!
Oh, Oh are those finished socks you see? They are Broadripple from Knitty
This is the progress on my tivoli tee by grumperina... I think I may pick up stitches and do some sort of picot edging to ward off the hideous roll. By the way it is being knit in Rowan Calmer.
IT'S A BIRD, IT'S A PLANE....NO IT'S my sockapal2za swatch...so now you know what I have decided on! I hope my pal likes it. I think I am going to try just a plain old regular sock to enhance the ability to see the beautiful KOIGU, KOIGU, KOIGU colors! Hope my pal likes it. By the way a great big thank you to Keri for helping me with putting multiple pictures on Blogger!

Ode to the Hubby
Just a quick post to tell you that even though I may complain...My husband is the best Dad in the world. My daughter (from a previous relationship) wrote the following to him for father's day...
Dear Dad,
I want to give you this memory rock. It is small like me and golden like my hair. It's shiny and bright like a memory. I want this to be with you when you are away, or when I am away somewhere. I would like you to look at it when I'm away. When I'm at camp you can just look at the rock and remember me. I love you very much.
Hey daddy, remember the time when I had trouble with my K'NEX toy? It wasn't leveled right. You helped fix the problem by putting the connections in the right place again. I also had to put on the wheel to make it spin around and around. Then you helped me to attach the little people to the ride. I'm happy that you helped me, and you always will. I also now know that you will always love me. Thank you for always being there for me! I love you very much.
Love, Dylana
PS I think you are the best dad anyone could have. I love you!
Happy Father's Day, Daddy!
So that is my mushy moment... Have fun with it... there won't be many more...HAHAHAHA
Happy Father's Day to all of the great dads out there. And if you are a sucky dad, buzz off!

My Arse
Well, I was all set to post a pic and show you the progress on my Tivoli T-Shirt (new and improved) And the title of my post was going to be "Socks, what Socks" Referring to the fact that I had gone to the yucky yarn shop to buy KOIGU, KOIGU, KOIGU and came out with additional items (Calmer). Of which I have selfishly cast on for myself the tivoli tshirt, evil I tell you.
Well~~~ That was before I saw my fat arse in the mirror. Now, I do realize that I had my fifth child not more than just 2 months ago, and she was definitely worth the fat arse...but when you have plumbers crack in a pair of stretch jeans there must be an intervention. How does one get rid of a super humongo butt? Remember people, no money for wardrobe enhancement, that would take money away from knitting, the horror.
My Birthday is coming...(the big 3-0, btw) But, I was planning more stash enhancement (can't get both from hubby, ya know) What to do, What to do... I know you are going to tell me to get off my fat arse and exercise, and that would be a great choice and I even have the equipment...no public gym for me....but alas, I am not willing to give up the knitting time... Got any suggestions? Anyone have a pattern to knit one's mouth shut? Not only would it help with my eating, but I know a lot of people who's headaches would mysteriously disappear.

Stash Enhancement...oh yeah and sockapaltwoza stuff. Okay, Check out the KOIGU, KOIGU, KOIGU #'s 143 & 611. My Pal asked for muted KOIGU or Jewel Tones. Here's the problemo, I originally was going to make the darker of the two for my pal, but do you see how well it matches my calmer. (Calmer is for my Tivoli Tee by Grumperina) What to do, what to do...Do any of you have any ideas? Please, please, please help me!

Sockapaltwoza
Well, Here's the start of my Sockapaltwoza journey...
So, could it be you? My pal asked for Koigu, so I am headed over to an LYS that I do not like, because they are the only ones in my general area that carries Koigu. This will be fun for me as I have not yet tried Koigu (are you sick of me typing Koigu?...I think it is fun to type Koigu, Koigu, Koigu, Koigu.) Okay back to the pal requests...no lacy socks...what to do, what to do. I have thought about Nancy Bush's Travelers Socks from Knitting on the Road. But, this sock has a semi-lace top and cables down the sides...do you think it will be okay? Hmmmm. I will see if the obnoxious yarn store has any patterns for KOIGU, KOIGU socks... More on this later...maybe even pictures...how expensive is KOIGU? Geesh, I hope she likes them!

A Couple of Days OFF.
Well, I figured after getting all steamy over someone else's blog, I could stop being so anal retentive and just stop reading thier blog...especially if I find thier blog annoying, duh. The sad thing is... I didn't listen to warning. A friend of mine warned me of this bloggers inept views and I stuck up for the blogger saying that they had not yet offended me...Silly, Silly ME! Friend of mine, you certainly should know who you are, thank you for the warning and perhaps next time I will choose to listen instead of being bullheaded.
~~****~~
On to knitting news.... OMG, I am so excited. A friend of mine is opening a Needlework Shop which will include knitting and crocheting, cross stitch, needlepoint and quilting. Well, I helped with putting up yarn yesterday. I love her so much because she listens to what I say about which products to get in. She has fixation...yeah, I no longer have to go to the nasty lady's yarn shop to get that. One thing off my list. She has the whole NORO line. The whole Jaeger Line. The only bummer is no ADDI TURBO's or Rowan Yarn...boohoo. I guess I could spread the enormous amounts of currency I spend on Fibers and such with some other shops, but I would much rather give my money to my friend. Now if we could only get the doors open. HEHEHE
~~****~~
What's on the needles...
Still finishing off the Broadripple socks from Knitty.
Working on a Sirdar Spree Tank for my sister Jackie.
Still working on The Debbie Bliss Noro Scoopneck Cardi.
Thinking of making my own design for some ankle socks in Cascade Fixation. woohoo.
Well, that is it for now...
See ya next post.

Disgusted at the Prejudices of the World
Well, Upon reading someone's blog, again not naming names, I found that I am disgusted with peoples prejudices. I agree that their are persons within groups of people who are quite fanatical. However, I do not believe that all people within a group should be chastised about the viewpoints of a few. I know, I am rambling and you are again wondering where I am going with this, Well Here is the Deal. I am so very sick of Religious Crap. You have Christians chastising Muslims, Jewish persons chastising Muslims, and vice versa with everyone chastising everyone Religion wise. Here's where I get mad... It's all the same God, people. Just different ways of worship and a couple of differences in opinion. Here's the kicker - in none of these religions is one person to judge another, hmmmm, yeah, that never happens. Reality Check people...unless you are perfect, which we all know you are NOT, SHUT THE F**K UP! Geesh. Sorry for getting so pissy, but I must say I am quite sick of all this stuff.

All is Forgiven
Well, We have officially forgiven the "Krapper". No knitting done at all today. Needless to say I am quite frazzled. Maybe there is hope for tomorrow. I always get so stressed when I don't knit. I signed up for sockpaltwoza! Can't wait. I will start hunting sock patterns I would like to try! Catch ya tomorrow, hopefully with pics of progress on the Noro Scoopneck! We'll see!
Krappy Kid
Okay...one of my kids...I won't name names, but you know it isn't Gracie...keeps krapping in klosets...a new one every day. What is a chick to do with a krappy kid? Not only does the kid krap in the kloset...the kid smooshes it into the kream karpet!!! Help me someone, please!!! Kalgon take me really far away. If I have to spend the day with the steamcleaner again, I might jump out the 3rd floor window. Do they have some sort of Keep out spray, like for dogs? Can someone make some...I'd surely pay for it? Other kids here don't do that? Do I have a Demon? No punishments work...the kid doesn't care...just does it again. Geesh. Hubby wonders why I knit so much...to keep my hands from strangling one kid or another...back to the therapy thing. Knitting can sometimes be cheaper than therapy. Speaking of knitting, I am almost ready to start sleeves on my Noro Scoop...pics later.

The Rotten Family
In this post, you may find out much more than you wanted to know about me and my dysfunctional family...readers beware...
I am the product of an extremely dysfunctional family...essentially my parents should definitely not had children. My mother is one child of 13. Her mother gave away and/or sold all but 2 children (my mother and my aunt)...I will go into what was wrong with my maternal grandmother another day. Needless to say...my mother is pretty screwed up. (And if you are wondering, I do not speak to her because I love my own children so much, I would prefer not to subject them to her abuses)...Okay back to the background. On my father's side...we have severe alcoholism and judging issues. IE...my father not too long ago decided to tell me that I was going to HELL for changing religions (please note...he changed religions in the early 80's)... All of his side of the family talks about everyone behind their backs... Okay, you are probably wondering where I am going with this... Well as a child I was bounced around from house to house (parents are divorced) ie Fathers, mothers, grandfathers (paternal). Well, when I was 15 both my parents signed over their parental rights to the state (essentially abandonment)...Now please, I am not complaining...I wouldn't be who I am now if that hadn't happened...And I met wonderful people along the way!... But here goes, I try my hardest to be a good person and my father's family treats me as an outcast... Now, I have no idea why this bothers me at all...but now all of a sudden, i am told by my father that I need to go with my sisters to a bridal shower for my cousin....okay fine i don't have a problem with that....however, I get a message yesterday on my answering machine from my aunt...did i mention how fake these people are...So says she, "Chrissy" I must mention how much I hate being called Chrissy " I just wanted to call to let you know that we are so happy that you are coming, but nobody else is bringing children, so I didn't want you to be embarrassed by bringing your children, its not my house and it is small...etc." I was fuming...geesh, did i rsvp for 6 of us, no...so why would the impression be that I would bring all of my children to a house that is owned by people I don't even know. Not to mention that it is a bridal shower, duh! Gosh, you'd think that I was five years old, not an almost 30 year old mother of 5....And, uh, news flash, I am an at home mom, don't ya think I would like to get away once in while... Sorry for the rant, but I needed to get it out!

Say Hi To Grace
This is Grace, She was born on April 18, 2005. She is the newest addition to our family.
I learned how to knit 3 years ago, when I was pregnant with one of my sons. (I've decided that it is not much fun to knit for boys) Needless to say, I was exstatic when I found out I was having a girl! I absolutely love knitting for her.
Grace has 2 sisters and 3 brothers... They are Ian, 24 - Dylana, 10 - Anna, 6 - Thomas, 4 (on June 18) - Harrison, 2 1/2. She is the baby of the family and everyone loves her!
More pics to come - WIP's, FO's etc.
