Anna (the new knitter) & the Clapotis

This is Anna's progress. I just want to point out to all of those who think I cannot handle imperfection...please note, I did not rip it out...I just made it knittable for her. Updates later.

Please look at my clapotis... I am knitting it on US Size 8 and I fear it is not tight enough once dropping stitches... ARRGGG. Serves me right for not swatching.

Please leave me a comment as to whether you would frog and start over with smaller needles or leave it alone... The decision is being left up to you!

Wishing you all a peaceful and happy day!

Comments:
I think you should continue on - my Clapotis looked about the same when I dropped my first couple of stitches. When you have more dropped, it should twist in on itself and start to spiral a bit. It's all good - really!

I think it looks fine - my first dropped stitch looked like that and then it worked out fine in the end. Keep up the good work!

I did mine on 8's in SWTC Bamboo Tequila colorway and it came out fine.

Just sit back, relax, let the pattern do it's thing. It'll look great!

I understand, I was a little apprehensive when I started mine.

What beautiful colors! I think you should continue on!

It's hard to tell from your picture, but the only thing I can think of is - I can't tell if you're twisting the stitches on both sides of the dropped stitch; they're there to tighten up those edge stitches, and it's about all you can do. If they're twisted, carry on! When you pull it out to full width, they should tighten up.

I think you should continue, it will twist and get really beautiful!!

Keep it. I've made a bunch of clapotis' in different widths and lengths and some of 'em have been tight and some have been loose. They're *all* beautiful. It's such an incredibly versatile pattern that it's nearly impossible to make it come out ugly. At *least* knit it until you get to the third dropped stitch and *then* decide if you don't like it. I bet you'll be very surprised.

Keep going! I think it looks great. I'm just now dropping stitches on my first clapotis...I think there's not really a "right" look that you have to match.

It looks great Don't rip it out! I love your pastel yummy yarn!

i haven't made clapotis yet, but that looks good to me! compared to others i have seen it looks good.. you know after you block the sucker it will look a bit drapier...

Anna's knitting is, of course - lovely. ;O)

I say continue on with Clapotis - its quite pretty and although I have yet to use this pattern - I agree with others that it will look better when you have a few more rows (and blocking) done.

ps... Thanks for being so sweet to me. :) TTYS

My SP is cool! A new hint EVERY time I post! I'm gonna be posting like twice a day minimum! Lol.
